A Glimpse into The Killer's Game

Spotting Sway in Hollywood: The Alethea Bodysuit's Surprise Cameo in "The Killer's Game"

What happens when action-packed Hollywood meets stylish polewear? In J.J. Perry’s latest film, The Killer’s Game (starring Dave Bautista and Sofia Boutella), the Alethea bodysuit from Sway—your favourite polewear brand—makes an unexpected appearance. Initially selected for a pole dance scene featuring Lucy Cork and Shaina West, the bodysuit's glowing fabric wasn’t ideal for the lighting. However, the costume designer loved its sleek, stage-ready design and repurposed it as a decorative element in the dance studio — where the film’s lead characters meet, marking the begining of their romantic relationship.

The Alethea Bodysuit: A Polewear Icon in Film

It was exciting for me to see The Sway bodysuit in a real Hollywood movie! While it's role may not have been central to the plot, by all means, its presence adds a touch of flair to the scene and shows how polewear can be percieved as stage costume if you take it out of the context of out pole dance bubble.

Sway’s Glow Collection: More Than Just Polewear

Sway’s Glow Collection, known for its luminous and stage-ready aesthetics, is proof that pole dance fashion is evolving beyond the studio. With its recent Hollywood feature, Sway is leading the way in demonstrating how polewear can be embraced in various creative industries. This recognition could inspire more filmmakers and costume designers to incorporate pole cloths into their productions, further boosting their mainstream appeal.

Fashion Meets Action: Sway's Growing Recognition

I hope the Alethea bodysuit's story is just the beginning of a larger trend, where polewear brands like Sway gain recognition beyond the pole. It would be exciting to see their innovative designs catch the eye of filmmakers and stylists, proving that clothing originally made for performance can find unexpected appreciation in other creative fields.

The Killer’s Game: Action-Comedy with a Twist

Directed by J.J. Perry, The Killer’s Game follows veteran assassin Joe Flood (Dave Bautista), whose misdiagnosed illness leads to an unexpected chain of action-packed and comedic events. The film also stars Sofia Boutella, Terry Crews, and Ben Kingsley. I personally had so much fun watching it (not only because of the Sway cameo) but for its humor, plot twists, beautiful scenography and of course the romance! And I mean - the opening scenes in the Theatre were unforgetable.

The Rise of Pole Dance in Film: From Niche to Mainstream Performance Art

As pole dance continues to gain traction in mainstream media, The Killer's Game showcases its growing popularity through dynamic dance scenes that blend action and artistry. In the film, we see female assassins introduced through captivating pole dance performances, highlighting the genre's evolution from a niche activity to a celebrated form of expression. This reflects a broader cultural shift—pole dance is no longer just a niche fitness trend but a celebrated form of performance art appearing in films, concerts, and theatrical productions.

Expanding the Reach of Polewear Brands

The appearance of the Sway Alethea bodysuit in The Killer’s Game highlights how pole dance fashion is crossing over into other industries. The film industry, in particular, presents a fantastic opportunity for polewear brands to showcase their stylish and functional designs. As demand for versatile and performance-friendly outfits rises, pole cloths are becoming a viable choice for costumers, stylists, and performers alike.

With the success of the Sway Glow Collection and its cameo in The Killer’s Game, we may soon see polewear brands collaborating with fashion designers, performers, and entertainment professionals to create clothing that seamlessly blends fashion and function.
